Film and television schools are sprinkled throughout the country, expectedly concentrated in California. The National Film and Television School advocates practicing the craft of film and television production by limiting time spent in conventional classrooms. Their two-year MA film and television program is validated by the Royal College of Art and offers courses in animation direction, cinematography, producing and directing television entertainment, and sound post production. UCLA also has a school for film and television within its Department of Film, Television, and Digital Media. The curriculum focuses on the history, theory, technical, and creative aspects of film and television. The goal of the program is to provide each student the opportunity to realize their own talents as an artist and communicator. Other film and television schools include the USC School of Cinema, Chapman University School of Film and Television, and Film and Television Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.
